About Pieces

Pieces is a background application that runs on a user's computer to build a searchable memory layer from everyday digital activity. It captures what appears on screen, what is copied and pasted (opt-in), and what is heard in meetings, forming a chronological timeline of research, chats, emails, notes, and meetings. Users can search or query this history by time, topic, person, or tool, and generate outputs such as standup updates, meeting prep, or day recaps from their own captured context.

The tool integrates with a range of applications and services, including email clients (Gmail, Outlook), browsers (Chrome, Arc, Safari), communication platforms (Slack, Teams, Google Chat, Discord), meeting tools (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams), document and design tools (Google Docs, Notion, Figma), and AI/development tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, JetBrains, Xcode, Perplexity). A Pieces MCP Server extends captured context into MCP-compatible assistants such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, and Antigravity.

Memories are stored on-device by default, and users can pause capture, disable it for specific apps or websites, or delete data by time period, source, or capture method. It is aimed at both individual users and teams; for enterprise customers, additional controls include bring-your-own API keys, org-wide capture policies, and compliance enforcement. A free trial and desktop download are available.
