Vim Adventures is an online game that teaches Vim's keyboard shortcuts, commands, motions, and operators through gameplay. Players control a cursor moving through a text-based world called Textland, unlocking new commands as they collect keyboard keys and progress through 13 levels, learning more than 60 commands and motions along the way. The game reinforces learning through puzzles, text-fixing exercises, and pop culture references, with in-game hints and a help system accessible via command-line syntax.

The product targets people learning Vim or Vi who want an alternative to a steep learning curve, including individuals and groups such as course participants or enterprise teams. A Game-Only License costs $35 for 6 months of access to all levels; a Game & Challenges License costs $40 for 6 months and adds timed CTF-style challenges with automated reviews, plus a level covering macros. A Group License is available for larger cohorts with shared statistics, aimed at courses and enterprises, with pricing available on request. Licenses are personal and cannot be shared or transferred.
