TypingBeast is a free online typing test and touch typing tutor. It measures words per minute and accuracy over 15, 30 or 60 second tests, counting only correctly typed characters toward the score, and displays results immediately after each test. Test history, daily streaks, an activity calendar and graphs of speed against accuracy are tracked over time, alongside a global leaderboard for each test duration. An optional zen mode offers fullscreen, distraction-free typing with no timer or score, set against backgrounds such as rainfall, waves or a campfire.

The site supports typing practice in five languages with their real keyboard layouts: English (QWERTY), Nepali, Hindi (InScript), Newari and Russian (ЙЦУКЕН), each layout sourced from the X11 keyboard database. An on-screen keyboard can be toggled on to highlight the next key as the user types, intended to reduce reliance on looking at the physical keyboard. Key mapping happens in the browser without any installation.

Users can customize test duration, toggle punctuation, show or hide the on-screen keyboard, choose from eight color themes, and switch languages. An account is optional and is used only to save history, streaks and progress charts; all core features, including tests, zen mode, analytics and leaderboards, are free. The product is aimed at beginners learning the home row as well as programmers practicing punctuation.
