About Voiden API Client

Voiden is an offline, Git-native API workspace that combines API design, testing, and documentation into a single file format called .void, based on plain Markdown. Requests, documentation, and contextual explanations live together in the same file and execute in place, removing the need to switch between separate tools for specs, docs, and testing. Files are stored as plain text and committed directly into a Git repository, making them diffable, reviewable, and branchable like source code.

The product decomposes API requests into reusable, composable blocks covering elements such as endpoints, headers, authentication, and parameters, which can be referenced across files. A companion package, @voiden/runner, allows the same .void files to run headlessly in Node.js environments, including terminals, cron jobs, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI, producing deterministic exit codes and a versioned --json output schema for use in automated pipelines.

Voiden is open source, runs offline with no cloud dependency or account requirement, and does not collect telemetry. It is aimed at developers who prefer to version-control their API workflows the same way they manage code, as an alternative to tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or documentation platforms like Notion or Confluence.
