About Shift Nudge

Shift Nudge is an online training program in professional interface design aimed at working designers who can complete projects but struggle with visual craft execution, including self-taught designers without formal foundations or experienced designers who never learned a systematic approach. The curriculum covers typography, layout, color, and enterprise design systems across 8 modules, structured as an 8+ week program requiring roughly 5 hours per week, followed by a year of live workshops, group critique calls, and community feedback.

The program includes a critique vault of past design reviews, bi-weekly live workshops with the founder for 12 months, and a community of designers who have worked at companies including Figma, Google, Netflix, Canva, Pentagram, and Dropbox. It was founded by Matt D. Smith, a designer credited with creating the Float Label interface pattern.
