About Requestly

Requestly is a desktop API client for macOS, Windows, and Linux used to build, organize, and test APIs, positioned as a Git-native alternative to Postman. It stores collections, environments, and variables as local JSON files that sync through Git rather than a cloud service, and supports importing existing collections from Postman, Insomnia, cURL, and OpenAPI. Core capabilities include a REST request builder with params, headers, body, and auth handling; pre- and post-request scripts with a JavaScript sandbox; environment and dynamic variables; a GraphQL client with schema introspection; SOAP and gRPC support; a collection runner; and API tests and assertions, including an AI-based test case generator from plain-English prompts. A CLI is available for running collections in CI pipelines.

The product also includes team-oriented and enterprise features: shared team workspaces with role-based access control, an encrypted vault for secrets that are not exported to the cloud, SOC-2 compliance, single sign-on, data encryption in transit and at rest, and audit logs. Additional tools listed include an HTTP interceptor and a file server. Pricing is described as free for up to 10 collaborators, with enterprise options covering governance, self-hosting, pilots, and procurement.

Requestly is aimed at individual developers and engineering teams who build and test APIs, including those working across multiple environments (local, staging, production) or migrating from Postman and wanting Git-based version control over their API collections.
