Mkdirs is an open-source directory boilerplate built on Next.js, designed for developers building directory websites. It includes listings management, AI-assisted content features, submission forms with AI autofill, payment processing, a blog system, authentication, newsletter support, and SEO optimization. Content is managed through an integrated Sanity headless CMS, requiring no separate database or storage setup.

The technology stack includes Next.js, Auth.js for authentication, Shadcn UI and Tailwind CSS for interface components, Sanity for content management, Resend for email, Stripe for payments, and the Vercel AI SDK. Authentication supports email/password login with verification and password reset, as well as Google and GitHub login options.

The product targets indie makers and developers who want to launch a directory website without building the underlying infrastructure from scratch. It supports monetization through affiliate links, paid submissions, and sponsored ad placements. The boilerplate includes three codebases: the base Mkdirs template, and two example directories (IndieHub and BoilerplateHunt) built with it. Documentation and video tutorials are provided, along with a Discord community for support.
