About Magic

Magic provides an API for provisioning non-custodial embedded wallets, allowing developers to create wallets for users and agents, sign transactions, and trigger onchain actions. The wallet creation and signing process supports sub-second latency. Authentication into the embedded wallets can be handled through Magic's native auth (email, social login, passkeys, or SSO) or through a connected third-party auth provider such as Auth0, Firebase, or NextAuth. The wallet UI can be customized to match an application's branding.

Wallet key management is distributed and encrypted across isolated services, with key reconstruction and signing performed inside trusted execution environments. Sharding setup can be configured as Magic-managed, self-hosted, or a hybrid arrangement. Magic has been operating since 2018 and holds SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001:2022, CCPA, and GDPR compliance.

The product is aimed at developers building onchain applications who need to onboard users to wallets without requiring them to manage private keys directly. Magic Labs also develops Newton Protocol, a separate policy protocol for governing onchain actions involving AI agents, stablecoins, and real-world assets.
