About Learn JavaScript

Learn JavaScript is an interactive course covering modern JavaScript (ES2015+) from arrays and functions through asynchronous logic, classes, prototypical inheritance, the DOM, modules, and generator functions. Lessons are read directly in the browser alongside test-driven coding challenges and 17 real-world-inspired projects, such as building a food tracker, implementing form validation, and working with public APIs like GitHub and currency conversion services. A separate flashcards app using spaced repetition reinforces concepts covered in the course.

The course is designed for beginner developers who already have basic programming experience and some familiarity with HTML and CSS. The first 7 chapters (77 lessons, challenges, projects, and flashcards) are available for free with no time limit; the remaining chapters require a PRO account, unlocked through a one-time payment that grants 5 years of access rather than a subscription.

The course was created by Jad Joubran, a Google Developer Expert and Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (2019-2022) based in Amsterdam, who has also produced related courses on SQL, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, programming fundamentals, and React.
