About Is It Disposable

Is It Disposable is a disposable and temporary email detection service for developer signup forms and backends. It performs DNS-level lookups against a maintained dataset of disposable email domains, without SMTP probing, and returns a verdict alongside signals such as MX record validity, relay/forwarder status, public provider status, and role account status. Each account defines a policy mapping these signals to an allow, warn, or block action, and the service returns the resulting action for the calling application to enforce; it does not enforce anything server-side, and requests fail open if the service is unavailable.

Integration is available as a drop-in JavaScript snippet that attaches to email form fields, or as a REST API with key-based authentication, an OpenAPI reference, and a synchronous batch endpoint supporting up to 100 addresses per call. A dashboard provides an enforcement policy editor, usage and analytics tracking (including verdict breakdowns and disposable rate), account-level allow/block lists with CSV import, and webhook delivery of usage and billing events signed with HMAC SHA-256. Logging respects a configurable privacy mode, storing only the domain by default or nothing at all.

The underlying dataset tracks over 211,000 disposable domains across 675 top-level domains and 190,900 root domains, with new domains added daily, including monitoring of at least one active disposable provider's advertised domain pool. The product is aimed at developers and teams looking to prevent disposable email signups that cause bounced campaigns, free trial abuse, wasted marketing spend, or unreliable metrics.

Frequently asked questions

How does the detection work?

It uses DNS-level lookups against a dataset of over 211,925 tracked disposable domains, without SMTP probing, and fails open if anything goes wrong.

How do I integrate it?

You can paste a drop-in script tag into your signup form or call the REST API with key authentication, including a synchronous batch endpoint for up to 100 addresses per call.

What signals besides 'disposable' can it detect?

It can also flag undeliverable domains (invalid MX), relay/forwarding services, public providers, role accounts, spam risk, and masked routing, each mappable to allow, warn, or block.

Does it block signups on its own?

No, the API returns a verdict and recommended action but never enforces it server side; your form or backend applies the action based on your policy.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes, there is a rate-limited live demo on the site to check an email or domain without billing.
